Two Industries Are Quietly Hiring 5× Harder Than Tech. Neither Is the One You're Watching.

In Myro Agent's work analysis of 12–13 July 2026, consulting carried 10,110 active postings and BFSI 8,299 — together 62% of all postings, and more than five times technology's 3,630. Technology has the most companies hiring, but far fewer roles each.

By volume of open roles, technology sits third, behind consulting and BFSI. It has the widest spread of hiring companies — 68 firms in the July data — but each posts relatively few roles. Consulting is the opposite: 26 firms, but they hire in bulk, roughly 389 roles per company against technology's 53.

Inside the consulting and professional-services giants, not product-technology companies. In the July 2026 data, consulting named Artificial Intelligence on 602 postings and Agentic AI on 596 — far more than the technology sector's 148 AI postings. The AI hiring wave in India is running through services firms building AI for their clients.

If you want volume of openings, the consulting and BFSI giants are hiring at several times the rate of product-technology companies, and they are where much of the AI hiring sits. If you want a specific product-engineering role, technology's 68 firms give you more employers to choose from, but each has fewer seats. Match the target to whether you want breadth of employers or depth of openings.
